This article features the new murals created during the 2023 edition of Mural Festival, as well as the temporary art found on the site (St-Laurent between Sherbrooke and Mont-Royal) while it was closed to traffic from June 8th to 18th.

Seven earlier Festival murals have been replaced with new ones in 2023. These are the Milkbox and Hanna Barczyk murals from the 2022 edition, the Burnt Toast mural from the 2020 edition, the multi-artist tribute wall to Scaner from the 2019 edition, the Fintan Magee wall from the 2017 edition, the Betz mural from the 2014 edition and the 10-year old iconic Ashop mural from the 2013 edition.

the tribute alley to Scan

For the 2023 edition of Mural, the long segment of the graffiti alley behind St-Laurent that is dedicated to Scan was completely redone. Pieces by the two dozen-plus artists involved are presented below from the left to the right end of the alley.

Isaac Cordal’s figurines

Spanish artist Isaac Cordal was in town for Mural and installed the following 15 figurines in the Mural zone.
